Furniture wrestling

Rich and I decided to build the dresser/changing table last night. All was going well we were down to just the drawers and the backing. I was sitting on the floor assembling the drawers while he attached the backing. All of a sudden one of the drawers tipped and cracked me right in the eye before I could move or catch it. So, of course I scream in surprise and start crying.

My husband, the super calm one, keeps asking me what happened. I, of course, can't talk so I motion to the drawer and my eye. So he immediately asks if I'm bleeding - as if I can see it! We figure that I am not and he cleans up the cut I DID manage to give myself below the eye. He put me on the couch with ice and finishes up our project. When he comes to check on me all I can ask is if I have a shiner - I just can't imagine coming into work and trying to explain that one.

I'm fine - unless I point it out you can't even see where I got hit. Still would've been nice to have the day off :-)

There is a soccer player in my stomach

That's right the baby started kicking!! (at least so hard that I could feel it)

We were at a wedding on Saturday and I felt a sharp pain in my stomach (of course I think all the worst things), but I put my hand there and I felt the baby kicking or moving or something. It was totally cool. Rich got to feel it too and I swear he almost cried.

We should find out on the 1st of September what the sex of the baby is - then I can finally go shopping. I don't want to go overboard or anything but I need to buy something for my future child.
